Reform of the National Curriculum in England

At a meeting of associations held on 9 April 2013 a clear consensus emerged that if the Government's proposals were implemented as they stand it would be detrimental forEnglish education. This is a curriculum appropriate for the past and not for the present or the future. It is not a curriculum that our children deserve.

National Association of Advisers and Inspectors in Design and Technology (NAAIDT)

NAAIDT is a registered charity that supports design and technology professionals to enhance the quality of design and technology education. The Association works to ensure the continued development of the subject and promotes design and technology’s unique contribution to the education of young people.

Membership is open to primary and secondary teachers, subject leaders and heads of department who have responsibility to provide support and/or advice relating to design and technology beyond their own school, ASTs (school and LA based), ITT lecturers, advisers, inspectors and consultants.

The Association provides curriculum guidance, advice and support to members, including advice regarding appropriate and relevant qualifications.

NAAIDT also has a quality assurance function. Through inspections and school reviews it is able to make judgements about standards, learning and teaching and the impact on performance.
