The Primary Project Box

Now available as affordable individual units, these are just the thing for resourcing a creative curriculum! Each unit is only £18.99 or £12.99 to members of the Geographical Association.

The Primary Project Box is designed to offer primary schools a practical means of ensuring that creative work across the curriculum is excellent, enjoyable and based on sound subject knowledge and pedagogy. The theme of the Primary Project Box - ‘Our School/Our World’ - develops subject knowledge and skills within the coherence of children’s experiences. It supports many initiatives including Learning outside the classroom, Sustainable development and The Campaign for Drawing. 

Each unit comprises a book and a CD covering planned activities in English, maths, science, history, geography, primary languages, art, music, PE and RE. These are clearly laid out with learning intentions, activities, differentiation opportunities to challenge and support pupils and extension activities across the curriculum. The accompanying CD contains a bank of images and downloadable worksheets to support the activities.

The following units are available:

Unit 1: Our classroom and our school

Activities which use the children’s immediate and present environment.

Unit 2: Inside, outside

Activities which help pupils to discover more about our immediate world.

Unit 3: Our wider world

Activities which help pupils make links to the community in which they live and help them to start thinking about how what we do, and how we live, is influenced by what happens elsewhere.

Unit 4: Our changing world

Activities focused on change – in the human body, the place where we live and the wider world.

Unit 5: Our future world

Activities that encourage children to think about changes in the future.

Teachers’ guide: Teaching out of the box

Contains an introduction and detailed information on how to use the Primary Project Box, the rationale for working across the curriculum, an inset session for introducing colleagues to the Primary Project Box and ways of linking ICT and design and technology with the individual units.
